I went to the Cote a few years ago and I was lucky enough to meet the landowner Jean-Pierre Brouillet who sadly passed away some time ago. He told me I was the first German he had ever met exploring the battlefield in the footsteps of his ancestor. Since then I have gone there quite a few times, and ever<y time is is a deeply moving experience.
